IPv6 Core Protocols Implementation

Qing Li, Tatuya Jinmei, Keiichi Shima, "IPv6 Core Protocols Implementation"
Morgan Kaufmann | ISBN 0124477518 | October 12, 2006 | 968 Pages | PDF | 5.2MB

IPv6 was introduced in 1994 and has been in development at the IETF for over 10 years. It has now reached the deployment stage. KAME, the de-facto open-source reference implementation of the IPv6 standards, played a significant role in the acceptance and the adoption of the IPv6 technology. The adoption of KAME by key companies in a wide spectrum of commercial products is a testimonial to the success of the KAME project, which concluded not long ago.

This book is the first and the only one of its kind, which reveals all of the details of the KAME IPv6 protocol stack, explaining exactly what every line of code does and why it was designed that way. Through the dissection of both the code and its design, the authors illustrate how IPv6 and its related protocols have been interpreted and implemented from the specifications. This reference will demystify those ambiguous areas in the standards, which are open to interpretation and problematic in deployment, and presents solutions offered by KAME in dealing with these implementation challenges.

The Aryabhatiya of Aryabhata: An Ancient Indian Work on Mathematics and Astronomy

Translated by Walter Eugene Clark, The Aryabhatiya of Aryabhata: An Ancient Indian Work on Mathematics and Astronomy
Kessinger Publishing | ISBN 1425485995 | 2006 | DjVu | 3 MB | 123 pages

In 1874 Kern published at Leiden a text called the Aryabhatiya which claims to be the work of Aryabhata, and which gives the date of the birth of the author as 476 A.D. If these claims can be substantiated and if the whole work is genuine, the text is the earliest preserved Indian mathematics and astronomical text bearing the name of an individual author, the earliest Indian text to deal specifically with mathematics and the earliest preserved astronomical text from the third or scientific period of Indian astronomy. The aim of this work is to give a complete translation of the Aryabhatiya with references to some of the most important parallel passages which may be of assistance for further study. Walter Eugene Clark is Professor of Sanskrit in Harvard University.

Pro Java 6 3D Game Development: Java 3D, JOGL, JInput and JOAL APIs

Andrew Davison, "Pro Java 6 3D Game Development: Java 3D, JOGL, JInput and JOAL APIs"
Apress | ISBN 1590598172 | April 30, 2007 | 528 Pages | PDF | 14.3MB

reate strange lands filled with mysterious objects (cows frozen in blocks of ice, chirping penguins, golden globes with wavering eyes) and throw away your keyboard and mouse, to go exploring armed only with a gamepad, power glove, or just your bare hands…

Java gaming expert Andrew Davison will show you how to develop and program 3D games in Java™ technology on a PC, with an emphasis on the construction of 3D landscapes. It's assumed you have a reasonable knowledge of Java - the sort of thing picked up in a first Java course at school.
Topics are split into three sections: Java 3D™ API, non-standard input devices for game playing, and JOGL. Java 3D is a high-level 3D graphics API, and JOGL is a lower-level Java wrapper around the popular OpenGL graphics API.

You'll look at three non-standard input devices: the webcam, the game pad, and the P5 data glove. Along the way, you'll utilize several other games-related libraries including: JInput, JOAL, JMF, and Odejava.

Learn all the latest Java SE 6 features relevant to gaming, including: splash screens, JavaScript™ scripting as well as the desktop and system tray interfaces.

Unique coverage of Java game development using both the Java 3D API and Java for OpenGL, as well as invaluable experience from a recognized Java gaming guru, will provide you with a distinct advantage after reading this book.
